LAND SUBDIVISSION AND AMALGAMATION

• Land Subdivision: This is the process of dividing a large piece of land into smaller plots or parcels. For example, if you have 5 acres, it can be subdivided into half-acre plots for sale, development, or inheritance.

• Land Amalgamation: This is the opposite of subdivision. It means combining two or more adjacent plots of land into one larger parcel. For example, if you have three 50x100 plots, you can merge them into a single bigger piece for easier development or investment.

• Subdivision = splitting land into smaller pieces.

• Amalgamation = joining smaller plots into a bigger one.

TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY

A topographic survey is a detailed survey that measures and maps the natural and man-made features of a piece of land. It shows things like:

• Land contours and elevations (hills, valleys, slopes).

• Physical features (trees, rivers, roads, buildings, fences).

• Boundaries and utilities (drainage systems, power lines, etc.).
